You can delete your Hilllz account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to make a request.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)
The fastest and most reliable way to delete your account:
- Open the Hilllz app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Delete account.
- Confirm your email address when prompted.
- Tap Delete my account.
Your account is removed immediately and you are signed out. The remaining data purge (see below) is completed within 30 days.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app — for example, you have lost the device or uninstalled it — email support@hilllz.com with the subject line "Account deletion request" and include:
- The email address associated with your Hilllz account.
- The sign-in method you used (Apple, Google, or email).
We will verify the request from the account-holder address, then process the deletion within 30 days and confirm by reply.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your Hilllz user record and sign-in credentials.
- Your saved favourites and alert subscriptions.
- Your snow-identity preferences and onboarding choices.
- Your subscription customer record (with our payments provider, RevenueCat).
- Your analytics identity (with PostHog), and any device identifiers linked to your account.
- Any reports or feedback you submitted that are tied to your account.
What we may retain
A minimal amount of data is kept where law or accounting standards require it:
- Subscription and payment records. Where you bought a Hilllz Peak subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the underlying transaction records sit with Apple or Google and are retained according to their policies. We hold a financial summary for tax purposes for 7 years, as required under Australian law.
- Aggregated and anonymised analytics. Data that does not identify you (for example, anonymised resort-popularity counts) may be retained in aggregate form.
- Security and abuse logs. Short-lived server logs that contain request metadata may persist for up to 90 days before being purged on rotation.

After deletion
Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account — if you return to Hilllz later, you will start fresh.
If you have an active Hilllz Peak subscription, deleting your account does not cancel the subscription with Apple or Google. To stop future charges, cancel through your platform's subscription settings:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Hilllz → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Play Store app → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Hilllz → Cancel.
